Clive Webber of Creative Landworks, Marsh, Devon approached us when he decided to start his own garden landscaping and ground works company. Based on discussions and valuable input from Clive, we developed his new branding including company logo, business cards and other stationary. In addition we developed a new mobile ready and responsive website based on the open source Content Management System (CMS) WordPresss. Prior to launching the site, we optimized the site content for performance and undertook Local SEO research and development work to ensure that the site ranked well within Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS) for the terms Clive was interested in and added a SSL Certificate in line with changes to the Google Ranking Algorithm which provided improved ranking for sites with SSL Certificates.
We placed the new site on our brand new dedicated hosting server to ensure that Clive’s new site benefited from the best possible performance. Due to Clive’s limited technical skills, we agreed to take over the ongoing maintenance including updating the WordPress core software and plugins as soon as updates are released. We added a weekly site backup and a number of security measures to ensure the site was not vulnerable to attack. Clive had complete peace of mind knowing that we were monitoring and maintaining all aspect of his site while he got on with the important job of operating and developing his new business.
As a sole proprietor of a newly formed business, Clive found that much of his evenings were spent generating quotes and invoices. We spent time looking at the way in which Clive undertook this process and made suggestions of how he could add his clients details to his iPhone and have these sync’d to his contacts within Outlook. We then developed a custom Excel VBA application that allowed Clive to select client contact details straight out of Outlook when generating quotations and invoices. Equally, when a quote or invoice was generated, simply pressing a button resulted in the invoice or quote being converted to PDF format and attached to a new e-mail automatically addressed to the contact. Client was also able to build a material inventory with pricing and select what items to add to the invoice or quotation which were then calculated automatically.
Invoices and quotes now take minutes instead of hours.
